Jeff durkin talks about storytelling for Architects on the latest podcast for The Business of Architecture. He shares his insight about how video and documentary storytelling is something that Architects can benefit from as a new way to connect with their audience. Emotion is the one component that film can offer that photos and a website just can’t deliver. Video is now the new normal way to communicate, but having low-budget in-house videography is missing the craft to hold people’s attention and compel them to share the video. With over 300 videos on design Jeff always uses a 3 act structure of begininng, middle and end to shape the video, mixed with interviews from the Architects and community to add the human element, and finished with beautiful cinematography to tie it all together. The information is important, but what’s paramount is how you leave people feeling.
