Connecting people to design through story.

VIDEOS FOR ARCHITECTS, DEVELOPERS, BUILDERS AND NON-PROFITS

We are Breadtruck Films- a production company dedicated to making videos on all things design. Our approach combines our background in Architecture with years of experience working in the Hollywood Film Industry, where we drove around in an old Wonder Bread truck that was converted into a mobile production studio. We have made films about every project type, from the “Jewel box” custom homes to the future of education. With over 500 films produced in the last 15 years, we’ve learned how to connect people to design through story.

JEFF DURKIN

Former Architect
turned filmmaker.

Jeff Durkin leads Breadtruck Films and has established a unique perspective on film-making based on his background as an Architect. Jeff Graduated from UC Berkeley with a degree in Architecture and worked in the San Diego Architect as Developer movement (lead by Jonathan Segal) for 6 years as a designer. From there he moved to Los Angeles and worked as a camera assistant for networks such as Sci-Fi, FX, WB and VFX company Digital Domain as a camera tracker. After a decade with a foot in each industry he founded Breadtruck Films as a vehicle for story-telling in the design industry.

His work has appeared and won awards in every major Architectural media platform. From features in Arch Daily and Architecture Hunter, to awards from Dezeen, Architizer, SXSW, and the AIA film Challenge. His photography has appeared in Dwell, Metropolis, and on the cover of Architecture Record featuring the Rose Apartments by Brooks + Scarpa.
